How Does It Work For Buyers?

The sole purpose of MathBid.com is to bring together people who need math help and experts who can provide that help.

Follow these easy steps to post a question and get a solution:

  1. Login with your username and password and click on the link ‘Post New Question’ on the left side of the screen.

  1. This will bring you to the ‘Post a Question’ form which you will need to fill out.

    1. Enter the title for the question you want help with.  For example, “What is the square root of 25?”

    1. Select a category for the question.  This will help experts find your question.  You may select more than one category.

    1. Post the problem in detail.

    1. Enter the maximum price ( in USD ) you are willing to pay for help with your question.  For example, if you do not want to spend more than $10, put 10.00.  The minimum price is $5.00.

    1. Enter the date for which you would like a solution for your problem.

    1. Select an optional file to upload.

  1. When you are finished, click the ‘Post Question’ button and you will see confirmation that the question has been posted.  You will now see your question when you click the ‘Questions I have Asked’ link on the left.

  1. Your question is now visible to experts who will start to place bids on your question.  Experts are encouraged to place bids which are lower than your maximum price so that you get the best price.  When an expert places a bid, you will receive an email notification.  You may also check your question for bids by logging in, then clicking on the ‘Questions I Have Asked Link’ on the left.  Click on your question and look at the ‘BIDS’ section.

  1. Once you are satisfied with a bid, click the ‘Accept’ button next to the bid.  This will bring you to the checkout screen.  You will now need to pay for the solution to your question using either a PayPal account or major credit card.  The payment will go into a safe and secure reserve fund, held by MathBid.com.  The purpose of the reserve fund is to show the expert you are serious about paying for the solution to the question.  The reserve also protects you the buyer.  If you are unhappy with a solution, you may contact MathBid.com for arbitration.  If we find the solution to be inadequate, you will get a refund to your PayPal or credit card account.

  1. Once payment is complete, the expert will be notified to begin working on your solution.  When the solution is completed, you will see it under the ‘Solutions’ sections of your question.  Note that only you and the expert can see the solution.  You may then review it, and if you are happy with the solution, you may accept it.  Otherwise, you may contact mathbid.com.
